எதிர்வரும் ஜனாதிபதித் தேர்தலில் தமக்கு ஆதரவு வழங்குமாறு கோரி இரு பிரதான வேட் பாளர்களின் தரப்புகளில் இருந்தும் தமிழ்த் தேசியக் கூட்டமைப்புக்குத் தொடர்ந்து வலை வீசப்பட்டு வருகின்றது.

நேற்றுமுன்தினம் இரவு தமிழ்த் தேசியக் கூட்டமைப்பின் நாடாளுமன்றக் குழுத் தலைவர் இரா.சம்பந்தனுடன் எதிரணியின் பொது வேட்பாளர் ஜெனரல் சரத் பொன்சேகாவும், அதே வேளை கூட்டமைப்பின் மற்றொரு சிரேஷ்ட தலைவரான சுரேஷ் பிரேமச்சந்திரனுடன் ஜனாதிபதி மஹிந்த ராஜபக்ஷவின் பிரதம ஆலோசகரும் சகோதரருமான பஸில் ராஜபக்ஷ எம்.பியும் பேச்சு
நடத்தியிருக்கின்றனர்.

தமிழ்க் கூட்டமைப்பின் சார்பில் பொது வேட்பாளராகத் தமிழர் ஒருவரை நிறுத்தும் திட்டம், கூட்டமைப்புக்குள் ஆதரவு இழந்து போன நிலையில், இரு பிரதான வேட்பாளர்களில் யாரை ஆதரிப்பது என்ற வினாவே கூட்டமைப்பு வட்டாரங்களில் முக்கியமாக ஒலிக்கத் தொடங்கியிருக்கின்றது. இத் தேர்தலில் வெற்றி தோல்வியைத் தீர்மானிக்கும் விடயமாகத் தமிழர்களின்

கூட்டமைப்பின் நாடாளுமன்றக் குழுத் தலைவர் இரா. சம்பந்தனுடன் ஜனாதிபதி மஹிந்த ராஜபக்ஷ, எதிர்க்கட்சித் தலைவர் ரணில் விக்கிரமசிங்க ஆகியோர் ஏற்கனவே இத் தேர்தல் தொடர்பாகத் தனித்தனியே பேசியிருந்தனர் என்பது தெரிந்ததே. நேற்று முன்தினம் இரவு இரா. சம்பந்தனுடன் ஜெனரல் பொன்சேகா விரிவான பேச்சுகளில் ஈடுபட்டார். இரவு எட்டு மணிமுதல் நள்ளிரவு பன்னிரண்டு மணிவரை நீடித்த இந்தப் பேச்சுகளின் போது ஐக்கிய தேசியக் கட்சியின் எம்.பியான கரு ஜயசூரியவும் உடனிருந்தார் எனத் தெரிவிக்கப்படுகின்றது.

இந்தப் பேச்சுகள் எதிர்பார்த்ததை விட மிகவும் நம்பிக்கை ஊட்டுவனவாக இருந்தன என்ற சாரப்பட இரா.சம்பந்தன் தமது கூட்டமைப்பின் ஏனைய முக்கிய தலைவர்களிடம் தகவல் வெளியிட்டார் என அறியவந்தது. சம்பந்தர் எழுப்பிய பல்வேறு வினாக்கள் தொடர்பில் சரத் பொன்சேகா அளித்த பதில்களும் உறுதிமொழிகளும் சம்பந்தருக்குத் திருப்தி தருவனவாக

இதேவேளை, கடந்த வாரம் ஜனாதிபதி மஹிந்த ராஜபக்ஷவைச் சந்தித்துப் பேசியிருந்த சம்பந்தன் எம்.பி., அச்சந்திப்பின் பெறுபேறுகள் தொடர்பில் தமது சகாக்களிடம் சற்று அவநம்பிக்கை தெரிவித்திருந்தமை குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது. இதேசமயம், மறுபுறத்தில் , நேற்று முன்தினம் இரவு தமிழ்க் கூட்டமைப்பின் மற்றொரு தலைவரான சுரேஷ் பிரேமச்சந்திரனுடன் பஸில் ராஜபக்ஷ

அக்கட்சியின் தேசிய அமைப்பாளர் இரா. யோகராஜன் ஆகியோர் உடனிருந்தனர்.

இந்த அரசுத் தலைமை தொடர்பாகவும், அதன் போக்குத் தொடர்பாகவும் தமிழ் மக்களுக்கும் கூட்டமைப்புக்கும் உள்ள ஆதங்கங்கள், அதிருப்திகள், கோபங்கள் குறித்து இந்தச் சந்திப்பின்போது சுரேஷ் பிரேமச்சந்திரன் பஸிலிடம் விரிவாக விளக்கினார் எனத் தெரிகின்றது.

New Delhi, Dec.6 : Expressing concern over President Obama's plan to start pulling American troops out of Afghanistan by mid-2011, top government sources here have said that America must not vacate war-ravaged Afghanistan until the establishment of peace and stability there.

Sources said, ever since President Obama unleashed his revamped Afghan strategy, according to which the US would be sending an additional 30,000 troops, Indian authorities are reportedly in touch with the White House, and are convinced that Washington is not adopting any 'exit strategy'.

New Delhi believes that the situation in Afghanistan is so grave that the planned US surge would not be able to resolve the quagmire in the next 18 months.

While the United States has stressed that it shares its goal of dismantling Pakistan and Afghanistan-based terror safe havens with India, sources clarified that New Delhi has no intention of sending troops to Afghanistan.

U.S. Ambassador to India Timothy J. Roemer had said: "Our core goal in Afghanistan and Pakistan-to disrupt, dismantle, and defeat terrorist networks-is an aspiration we share with India."

"We must unite in the commitment of our civilian resources, and provide the tools for economic development and humanitarian aid to eliminate the extremist violence that is the enemy of peace, faith,democracy, tolerance, fundamental freedoms and human rights," said Roemer, hours after President Obama's announcement of the new Afghan policy.

Obama had on Tuesday, said he was ordering 30,000 more U.S. troops to Afghanistan by next summer to counter a resurgent Taliban and had plans to begin a troop withdrawal in 18 months. The goal, Obama said, was to speed up the battle against Taliban insurgents, secure key population centres and train Afghan security forces so they can take over and clear the way for a U.S. exit.

Violence has escalated as tens of thousands of additional foreign troops, mainly Americans, have been deployed in response to an escalating Taliban insurgency which has claimed record numbers of military and civilian lives so far in 2009.

ஆட்சி மாற்றம் ஒன்றை ஏற்படுத்தி தமிழர் பிரச்சினைக்கு அரசியல் தீர்வொன்றைக்காண தமிழ் தேசிய கூட்டமைப்பு இத் தேர்தலில் ஜெனரல் சரத் பொன்சேகாவை ஆதரிக்க வேண்டும் என மனோ கணேசன் எம்.பி கூறியுள்ளார்.
ஜனாதிபதித் தேர்தலில் எந்த வேட்பாளரை ஆதரிப்பது என்ற தனது கட்சியின் நிலைப்பாட்டை தாம் நேற்று நடத்திய செய்தியாளர் மாநாட்டில் வெயிட்ட அறிக்கையிலேயே மனோ கணேசன் இவ்வாறு கூறினார். இது தொடர்பில் அவர் மேலும் கூறியவை வருமாறு:
தென்னிலங்கைவாழ் தமிழர்கள் எதிரணி பொது வேட்பாளருக்கு வாக்களிக்க வேண்டும். வடக்குகிழக்கு தொடர்பில் கூட்டமைப்புடன் பேச்சுவார்த்தைகள் தொடரும். தென்னிலங்கை முழுக்க வாழும் தமிழ் மக்கள் ஆட்சிமாற்றத்திற்காக எதிர்க்கட்சிகளின் பொது வேட்பாளராக நியமிக்கப்பட் டிருக்கும் சரத் பொன்சேகாவிற்கு எதிர் வரும் ஜனாதிபதி தேர்தலில் வாக்களிக்க வேண்டும்.

சரத் பொன்சாகாவிற்கு எந்தவித அரசியல் நிபந்தனைகளுமின்றி வாக்களிக்கவேண்டும் என தமிழ் மக்களை நாம் கோரவில்லை. தமிழ் மக்கள் சரத் பொன்சேகாவிற்கு அளிக்கும் ஒவ்வொரு வாக்கும் இன்றைய ஆட்சியை மாற்றும் வாக்குகளாகும். யுத்த வெற்றியினை முன்னிலைபடுத்தி தேர்தல்களில் இலகு வெற்றி பெற்றிடலாம் என இந்த அரசு மனப்பால் குடித்தது. ஆனால் யுத்த வெற்றிக்கு காரணமானவரே தேர்தலில் பொது வேட்பாளராக எதிரணியினால் நிறுத்தப்படுவதால் இன்று இந்த அரசு அதிர்ந்துபோய்யுள்ளது. இந்த ஆட்சியை மாற்றுவதற்கு இதைவிட
சிறந்த வழி எதுவும் கிடையாது.

தமிழ் தேசிய கூட்டமைப்பிற்கு அழைப்பு
இன்றைய ஆட்சியை மாற்றியமைத்து புதிய தேசிய அரசை ஏற்படுத்தி தமிழ் மக்களுக்கு அரசியல் அதிகாரங்களை பகிர்ந்தளிக்கும் எமது செயற்திட்டத்திற்கு தமிழ் தேசிய கூட்டமைப்பினர் ஒத்துழைப்பு வழங்கவேண்டும். வடகிழக்கின் ஐந்து தேர்தல் மாவட்டங்களான யாழ்ப்பாணம், வன்னி, திருகோணமலை, மட்டக்களப்பு, அம்பாறை ஆகிய இடங்களில் வாழும் தமிழர் தொடர்பல் தமிழ் தேசிய கூட்டமைப்புடன் பேச்சு தொடர்ந்தும் நடத்தப்படும். இன்றைய அரசை மாற்றிடவேண்டும் என்ற உணர்வுகள் இன்று வடக்குகிழக்கில் தமிழ் மக்கள் மனங்களில்
ஒலிப்பதாக எமக்கு கிடைக்கும் தகவல்கள் தெரிவிக்கின்றன. அந்த உணர்வுகளை எதிரொலிக்கச் செய்து ஆட்சிமாற்றம் என்ற ஒரே அடிப்படையில் எதிரணி பொது வேட்பாளர் சரத் பொன்சேகாவை கூட்டமைப்பு ஆதரிக்கவேண்டும் என தோழமையுடன் கேட்டுக்கொள்கின்றேன்.

மலையக கட்சிகளுக்கும், தொழிற்சங்கங்களுக்கும் அழைப்பு
தென்னிலங்கையின் மத்திய, ஊவா, சப்ரகமுவ மற்றும் மேல்மாகாணத்தில் வாழ்ந்துக்கொண்டிருகும் தமிழ் மக்கள் மத்தியில் இந்த அரசை மாற்ற வேண்டும் என்ற உணர்வு கொந்தளித்துக்கொண்டிருக்கின்றது. எவர் என்ன சொன்னாலும் இதுதான் யதார்த்தம். எனவே நமது மக்களின் எண்ணக்கருத்திற்கு ஏற்ப மலையக கட்சிகள் செயற்பட வேண்டும். ஆட்சி
மாற்றத்திற்காக மலையக கட்சிகள் எதிரணி பொது வேட்பாளர் சரத் பொன்சேகாவை ஆதரிக்கவேண்டும் என தோழமையுடன் கேட்டுக்கொள்கின்றேன்.

தமிழர் போராட்டம்
இந்நாட்டில் இனியொரு ஆயுத போருக்கு இடம் கிடையாது. போர் முடிந்துவிட்டது. ஆனால் போராட்டம் முடியவில்லை. தமிழ் மக்களின் போராட்டத்தின் வடிவம் மாறவேண்டும். அது ஜனநாயக போராட்டமாக முன்னெடுக்கப்படவேண்டும். அதிகாரப் பகிர்வுக்காகவும், நீதி, சமாதானம் ஆகிய நோக்கங்களுக்காகவும் அரசியல் முதிர்ச்சியுடனான சாணக்கியத்துடன் நாம்
காய்நகர்த்த வேண்டும். எமது போராட்டத்தை சிங்கள அரசியல் அணிகளுடன் இணைந்து முன்னெடுக்கும் சந்தர்ப்பங்களை நாம் ஒருபோதும் தவறவிடக்கூடாது.

புலம்பெயர் தமிழர்கள்
இலங்கையில் ஆட்சி மாற்றத்திற்கும், தமிழர்களின் போராட்ட வடிவத்தின் ஜனநாயக மாற்றத்திற்கும் புலம் பெயர்ந்து வாழுகின்ற தமிழர்கள் ஆதரவு வழங்கவேண்டும். களத்தில் இருந்தபடி நேரடியாக ஜனநாயக போராட்டங்களை முன்னெடுக்கும் தமிழ் தலைமைகளை அடையாளங்கண்டு ஒத்துழைப்பு வழங்கவேண்டும்.

பகிஷ்கரிப்பு எங்களுக்கு உடன்பாடானது அல்ல
கடந்த ஜனாதிபதி தேர்தல் காலக்கட்டத்திலிருந்து இன்றுவரையும் தேர்தல் பகிஷ்கரிப்பை நாம் ஏற்றுக்கொள்ள தயாராக இல்லை. இந்நிலையில் நாங்கள் வாக்களித்தாலும், வாக்களிக்காவிட்டாலும் கொழும்பில் ஆட்சி அதிகாரத்தை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளும் அணியின் அதிகாரம் தமிழ் மக்கள் மீது பாதிப்பை செலுத்துகின்றது. இந்நிலையில் எமது வாக்களிப்piன் மூலமாக அந்த அதிகார அணியை இயன்றவரையில் எமக்கு சாதகமாக மாற்றிக்கொள்ளவேண்டிய தேவை தமிழ் மக்களுக்கு இருக்கின்றது. இராமண் ஆண்டால் என்ன? இராவணன் ஆண்டால் என்ன? என்று தமிழ் மக்கள் தேர்தலில் அக்கறையின்றி இனிமேலும் இருக்கமுடியாது. இங்கே போட்டியிடும் இருவருமே இராவணர்கள் தான். இந்த இராவணர்களில் பெரிய இராவணன் யார்? சின்ன இராவணன் யார்? என்று சிந்தித்து முடிவு செய்யவேண்டிய நிலைமையில் தமிழ் இனம் இருக்கின்றது. இதைத்தவிர நடைமுறை சாத்தியமான மாற்று வழி கிடையாது.
மனசாட்சிப்படி மக்களை வாக்களிக்க கோரமுடியாது

தமிழ் மக்களிடம் தமது சொந்த விருப்பத்தின்படி வாக்களியுங்கள் எனக்கூறிவிட்டு எமது கடமையில் இருந்து நாம் நழுவ முடியாது. தமிழ் மக்களின் பரதிநிதிகள் என்ற முறையில்
மக்களுக்கு தலைமைத்துவம் வழங்கி வழிகாட்டவேண்டிய வரலாற்று கடமையை நாம் நிறைவேற்றுவோம். ஏனைய தமிழ் கட்சிகளும் மக்களுக்கு தெளிவாக வழிகாட்டவேண்டும் என நாம் கோருகின்றோம்.*

விடுதலைப் புலிகளின் மாவீரர் தினமான நேற்று மன்னார் நகர மண்டபத்தில் இடம்பெற்ற நிகழ்வில் கலந்து கொண்டு உரையாற்றுகையில் அமைச்சர் இதனைத் தெரிவித்தார்.

அவர் மேலும் தெரிவிக்கையில்,

"இன்றைய தினம் கொலைகாரர்களின் தினம். உயிர் நீத்த போராளிகள் மக்களுக்காகவே உயிர் நீத்துள்ளனர். இவர்களை மன்னிக்க முடியும்.ஆனால் இதனை ஏவிவிட்டவர்கள் தற்போது

இல்லை.இவர்கள் அனைவரும் தங்களைத் தியாகம் செய்துள்ளனர்" எனத் தெரிவித்தார்.

இந்நிகழ்வின் போது மன்னார் மாவட்டத்திலுள்ள 7 பாடசாலைகளுக்கு 17 லட்சம் ரூபா பெறுமதியான பாடசாலை உபகரணங்களையும் அமைச்சர் பகிர்ந்தளித்தார். நிகழ்வில் சமூகசேவைகள்

அமைச்சின் உயர் அதிகாரிகளும்,மடு வலயக் கல்விப் பணிப்பாளர்,7 பாடசாலைகளினதும் அதிபர்கள் ஆகியோர் கலந்துகொண்டனர்.

இதனையடுத்து மன்னார்-தலைமன்னார் பிரதான வீதியிலுள்ள சிங்கள பாடசாலையில் தொண்டர் ஆசிரியர்கள் மற்றும் பட்டதாரி ஆசிரியர்களையும் அமைச்சர் டக்ளஸ் தேவானந்தா சந்தித்து

Those who went on the delegation on a fact finding mission to Sri Lanka and met the President at the beginning of the year have become Douglas’s activists and consultants. So far, London based solicitor Rangan has been appointed as Municipal Councils legal consultant. Another London based Mylvaganam Sooriyasegaram has been engaged as consulting engineer. In addition, positions have been given to Dr Bala from London Dr Nadesan of Australia. According to information, many others have been approached and offered positions and they are said be undecided take on the positions.
A close Tamil ally of the President (name withheld) confirmed that whenever Douglas meet the President he always ask for ‘Sally’ (money). The President has said once: ‘I know how to handle Douglas. His main interest is money, once it is given he is subdued’.
(December 02, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) The controversial paramilitary leader and the non-cabinet Minister Douglas Devananda is currently spearheading his one man show in the northern Jaffna peninsula. Heavily backed by the President and the military, Douglas is said to be enjoying absolute control over the affairs of Jaffna. His dictates is said to extending beyond the Jaffna municipal boundaries and people in Jaffna peninsula are said to fear for the arms held by his group. Minister Douglas Devananda and other Tamil paramilitary groups patronised by the President have not surrendered their weapons to the authorities yet.
Hiring and firing of officials by Douglas Devanada are said to be taking place in Jaffna without any check and balance by the government. In addition, his tight grip on Jaffna with the backing of the military is preventing other Tamil political parties to conduct their affairs in the peninsula.
Douglas Devananda’s Eelam Peoples Democratic Party (EPDP) is said to be a one man’s show of its leader. Except for managing his party offices in Colombo and Jaffna, there are no general membership or branch level political activities of members. Further, EPDP had never held elections to select its party officials.

Following the defeat of the LTTE, the EPDP leader is on the spree to recruit some diaspora Tamils to work for him. His very loyal friends overseas are said to be providing to their leader details of individual Tamils who are opposed to the LTTE. Douglas is said to personally approaching them and offering titled appointments as consultants for the Jaffna Municipal Council. These title offers are said to be his triumph card to lure the expatriates in the fringes.

With the help of these extraordinary consultants, Douglas Devananda is planning to hold an international conference on the theme of ‘Development’ in Jaffna to attract more expatriate Tamils.

According to news filed in a leading newspaper in Colombo ‘The Douglas Devananda-led EPDP, a constituent party of the ruling UPFA, has laid down several conditions including a demand for a political

solution and power devolution beyond the 13th Amendment, if it is to support President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the upcoming presidential election’. Having failed to influence the President, to properly

implement the 13th Amendment without any manipulations in the East whilst serving as Minister, Douglas Devananda is now up in arms for devolution beyond the 13th amendment to the constitution. This is

said to be a combined effort of both the President and Minister Douglas Devananda to convince the Tamil voters to back the President in the forthcoming Presidential election.

Three captured LTTE ships being brought to Sri Lanka

In what could be described as the third biggest blow to the LTTEsince the decimation of its leadership in the Vanni last May, followed by the arrest and ‘extraordinary rendition’ of its self-appointed leader and

chief arms procurer K. Pathmanadhan alias KP, Sri Lanka has seized three LTTE ships and is in the process of bringing them to Colombo, The Island learns.

The rogue vessels being brought to Sri Lanka by the Lankan Navy were expected to reach the Sri Lankan shores within the next two weeks, highly placed government sources said yesterday. They refused to

divulge the port of embarkation.

Information about the LTTE ships had been revealed to the security forces during the interrogation of KP arrested on August 6 from the capital of an Asian country and flown to Sri Lanka. He had provided

valuable information to the security forces on the past activities of the LTTE and the outfit’s future plans, sources said. Interpol had helped the security forces to act on information provided by KP, sources

said.

Information about local contacts of the LTTE, provided by KP, was being verified, source said.

The ships being brought to Sri Lanka under tight security are expensive craft used by the LTTE for transportation of arms, ammunition and human smuggling.

Earlier during the war, the Sri Lankan Navy destroyed 10 LTTE ships engaged in arms smuggling.

Sources said it was the first step in the Government’s endeavour to seize LTTE’s overseas assets.

"Such assets and high ranking LTTE cadres now hiding in foreign capitals will be captured soon and brought to Sri Lanka," source said.

Once Sri Lanka taken over the three ships, their agents had gone missing but Interpol was helping Sri Lanka to trace them, source said.
