Today Marks the 21st Year completion for the IDPs who were Forcibly Evicted from North.
MONDAY, 31 OCTOBER 2011 

The northern Muslims who were forcibly evicted by the LTTE complete 21 years as IDPs today. These people were chased out of their own land within a period of 48 hours. The innocent people who still carry the scars of the war are suffering with many difficulties to this day.


Although numerous authorities requested the resettlement of these Muslim IDPs, they were not resettled even after more than two years have elapsed since the end of the war. The government still hadn’t arranged a proper resettlement program for these people. 


Many of these people are relocating to the North without any facilities or help as it is their wish to live in their hometowns. They request the authorities to provide them proper solutions for them at least in the 22nd year.
