2010 ஜனாதிபதித் தேர்தலில் சரத் பொன்சேக்காவுக்கு பிரச்சாரம் செய்தோர் இப்போது விழுந்தாலும் மீசையில் மண்படவில்லை என்பது போல் ஒட்டுக்குழுக்கள் மேல் பழி போட்டு தேர்தல் மோசடியை தமது படு தோல்விக்கு காரணமாகக் காட்டுகின்றனர்..
1) பயங்கரவாதத்தையும் வன்முறையையும் தோற்கடித்து விட்டு தாங்கள் நடத்திய ஜனநாயக தேர்தல் இது, இப்படித்தான் பீத்திக் கொண்டீர்கள். இனிமேல் வன்முறை பற்றி எங்களிடம் ஊளையிட வேண்டாம்.
2) ஒட்டுக்குழுத் தலைவன், வெள்ளை வான் கொலை காரன் டக்ளஸ் ''மத்தியில் கூட்டாட்சி மாநிலத்தில் சுயாட்சி'' என்று சொல்லி விட்டுத்தான் இத்தனையும் செய்தான்.
மாநிலத்தில் டக்ளசின் ''சுயாட்சியில்'' இருந்து தங்களைக் காப்பாற்றும் கவச வாகனங்களை மத்தியில் ஒற்றையாட்சிக்குள் தீர்வு காணப் புறப்பட்ட தாங்கள் பெற்று தங்களைக் காப்பாற்றியிருக்க வேண்டும்.அப்படி ஒரு ''கூட்டாட்சியை'' ஒற்றையாட்சிக்குள் தாங்களும் அமைத்துக் கொண்டிருக்க வேண்டும்.அதிகாரப் பகிர்வு அதைத் தங்களுக்கு உத்தர வாதம் செய்யவில்லையெனில் அழிந்து தொலைய வேண்டியது தங்களுக்கு விதிக்கப்பட்ட விதி.
3) கேவலம் சம்பந்தன்-சுரேஸ்-பத்மினி கும்பல் வடக்கு கிழக்கு இணைப்பைக் கூட சரத்திடம் வலியுறுத்தவில்லை.இந்தக் கும்பல் மட்டும் என்ன இலட்சியக் குழுவா??
4)1987 இல் இந்திய இராணுவத்தின் அதிகாரப் பின் பலத்தில்-
சுரேஸ் பிரேமச்சந்திரன் யாழ் கச்சேரியில் நடத்திய தேர்தலை விட என்ன மோசமாக இங்கே நடந்துவிட்டது? அங்கு வாக்களித்ததே அதிகாரிகள் தானே!!இந்தியச் சிப்பாய் கூட வாக்களித்தானே!!
5) புலிகளின் அதிகாரப் பின் புலத்தில்
அ) ஏகபோக அங்கீகாரத்துக்காக நடந்த "வீட்டுக்குப் போகும் தேர்தல்"
ஆ) ராஜபக்சவிடம் லஞ்சம் வாங்கி "அதிகார பேரத்துக்காக ரணிலை தோற்கடித்த ஜனாதிபதித் தேர்தல்"
இவை மட்டும் என்ன, 'கன்னி கழியாமல் கற்பு அழியாமல்' நடந்த புனிதத் தேர்தல்களா??
6) மேலும் ஜனநாயகப் பாதைக்குச் சென்றோரே இது தான் தங்கள் கேடுகெட்ட ஜனநாயகம்.
தேர்தல் மோசடி வென்றவனுக்கு தோல்வியைத் தவிர்ப்பதற்கு எந்தளவு உதவுகிறதோ அதே அளவுக்கு தோற்றவனுக்கு வெற்றியைத் தழுவுவதற்கும் உதவுகின்றது.சில வேளைகளில் இன்றைக்கு அதிகாரத்தில் உள்ளவன் அதிக நன்மை அடைந்திருந்தால் அவன் நேற்றைக்கு அதிகாரத்தில் இருந்தவனிடம் அதை இழந்தவனாக இருந்திருப்பான். அதற்கு பழி தீர்த்திருப்பான்அவ்வளவே!!
7) தேர்தல் ஆணையாளப் புலியின் பற்களைப் பிடுங்கி விட்டார்களாம், இது தானாம் அவர் கடைசி உறுமல்!!
பாதிரிகளினதும், நீதவான்களினதும்,தூதுவர்களினதும் துல்லிய ஆய்வுக்கு இந்த தேர்தல் புள்ளிவிபரங்கள் சமர்ப்பணம்.
8) நமது கரிசனையை எட்டியவை வருமாறு.
அ) இலங்கையின் 1978 அரசியல் யாப்பு ஜனாதிபதிக்கு வழங்கியுள்ள அதிகாரத்தின் கீழ் அவர் தன்னைத் தேர்வு செய்யும் தேர்தலைக் கூட தனக்கேற்ற விதத்தில் நடத்தலாம்.அப்படி நடந்த ஒரு தேர்தல் தான் 2010 ஜனாதிபதித் தேர்தல்.
ஆ) வாக்களித்தவர்களின் எண்ணிக்கை ராஜபக்ச காட்டும் புள்ளிவிபரமே! குறிப்பாக சிங்களப் பிரதேசங்களில்.இது 70 வீதத்தையும் எட்டிச் செல்கிறது, காவலில் உள்ள பல்லிழந்த ஆணையாளர் கையொப்பமிட்டாகவேண்டும்,
இ) அவரது புள்ளி விபரத் தலையீட்டில் தப்பிய தமிழ் பேசும் மக்களில் - குறிப்பாக தமிழ் மக்களில் பெரும்பான்மையோர் -தேர்தலில் வாக்களிக்கவில்லை சராசரியாக 70 வீ,தம் மக்கள் வாக்களிக்கவில்லை.
இப் பெரும்பான்மையோரான தமிழ் மக்கள்
1) தேர்தலைப் புறக்கணித்துள்ளனர்
2) இரு வேட்பாளர்களையும் நிராகரித்துள்ளனர்
3) தமிழ்த் தேசியக் கூட்டமைப்பை நிராகரித்துள்ளனர்.
ஈ) வாக்களித்த 30 வீதம் பேரில் பெரும்பான்மையோர் சரத்துக்கு வாக்களித்துள்ளனர்.
உ) விடுதலைப் புலிகளின் வீழ்ச்சியைப் பயன்படுத்தி தமிழீழ விடுதலைப் புரட்சியை சீர்திருத்த இந்திய சார்பு வழியில், சரத்துடன் கூட்டுச் சேர்ந்து அழித்தொழிக்க திட்டமிட்ட சம்பந்தன்- சுரேஷ்-பத்மினி கும்பலின் சதியை தமிழ் பேசும் மக்கள் முறியடித்துள்ளனர்.
ஊ) விடுதலைக்கான உத்வேகத்தை பின் தொடர்ந்து ஊசலாட்டம் பயணிக்கின்றது.எனினும்,
நிலத்திலும் புலத்திலும் தமிழர் முழக்கம் ஒன்றே!

இலங்கையில் நேற்று நடந்து முடிந்த அதிபர் தேர்தலில் இதுவரை வெளியிடப்பட்ட முடிவுகளின்படி அதிபர் ராஜபட்சவே முன்னணியிலுள்ளார்.
இந்த நிலையில், அவர் வெற்றி பெற்றுவிட்டதாக அரசுத் தொலைக்காட்சியான ரூபவாகினி அறிவித்திருக்கிறது.
70 சதவீத வாக்குகள் பதிவாகியுள்ள இந்தத் தேர்தலில் ராஜபட்ச தன்னை எதிர்த்துப் போட்டியிட்ட எதிர்க்கட்சிகளின் பொதுவேட்பாளர் சரத் பொன்சேகாவைவிட சுமார் 18 லட்சம் வாக்குகள் அதிகம் பெற்றிருப்பதாக இலங்கை தேர்தல் ஆணையத்தின் அதிகாரப்பூர்வ தகவல்கள் தெரிவிக்கின்றன.

தேர்தல் முடிவுகள் வெளியானவுடன், தன்னை கொலை செய்ய இலங்கை இராணுவத்தினருக்கு ராஜபச்ச உத்தரவிட்டுள்ளதாக சரத் பொன்சேகா குற்றம் சாட்டியுள்ளார்.
இலங்கை அதிபர் தேர்தல் நேற்று நடைபெற்றது. ஆளும் சுதந்திரா கட்சி தலைமையிலான கூட்டணி வேட்பாளராக அதிபர் ராஜபக்சே களம் இறங்கி இருக்கிறார். இலங்கை ராணுவத்தின் முன்னாள் தலைமை தளபதியான சரத் பொன்சேகாவை எதிர்க்கட்சிகள் நிறுத்தி உள்ளன.
இலங்கை அதிபர் தேர்தலில் 70 சதவீத வாக்குகள் பதிவாகி உள்ளன. இதில் தற்போதைய அதிபர் ராஜபக்ச சுமார் 12 இலட்சம் வாக்குகள் வித்தியாசத்தில் முன்னிலையில் உள்ளதாக தகவல்கள் வெளியாகி உள்ளன.
வாக்குகள் எண்ணிக்கை பணி நடைபெற்று வரும் இந்நிலையில் பொன்சேகா தனது இல்லத்தில் தங்காமல், கொழும்பில் உள்ள நட்சத்திர ஹோட்டல் ஒன்றில் தங்கி உள்ளார். அங்கு செய்தியாளர்களிடம் பேசிய அவர், இலங்கை அதிபர் தேர்தலில் ராஜபக்ச முறைகேடு செய்துள்ளார். தேர்தல் முடிவுகள் வெளியானவுடன் என்னை கொலை செய்துவிடும்படி இலங்கை இராணுவத்தினருக்கு அவர் உத்தரவிட்டுள்ளார்.
இதனால் இலங்கை இராணுவத்தினர் நான் தங்கி இருக்கும் ஹோட்டலை முற்றுகையிட்டுள்ளதுடன், அங்கிருக்கும் பொதுமக்களை வெளியேற்றும் பணியிலும் ஈடுபட்டு வருகின்றனர்.
அதிபர் தேர்தலில் போட்டியிடுவதால் என் உயிருக்கு ஆபத்து ஏற்பட்டுள்ளது என்று செய்தியாளர்களிடம் கூறியதாக தகவல்கள் வெளியாகியுள்ளன.

எதிர்க்கட்சி வேட்பாளர் ஜெனரல் சரத் பொன்சேகா நாட்டு மக்களை ஏமாற்றியுள்ளதாக கல்வி அமைச்சர் சுசில் பிரமேஜயந்த தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.
வாக்களிப்பதற்கான உரிமை இல்லை என்பதனை கடைசி நேரம் வரையில் ஜெனரல் மக்களிடம் மூடி மறைத்துள்ளதாக அவர் குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளார்.
வாக்குரிமை இல்லாத நபர் ஒருவர் ஜனாதிபதித் தேர்தலில் போட்டியிட்டமை தொடர்பில் சட்ட நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கப்படும் என அவர் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.
தேசிய பாதுகாப்பு தொடர்பான ஊடக மத்திய நிலையத்தில் நேற்று மாலை நடைபெற்ற ஊடகவியலாளர் சந்திப்பில் கலந்து கொண்ட போது அவர் இதனைக் குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளார்.
பிரச்சாரப் பணி நிறைவடைந்த 23ம் திகதிக்கு பின்னர் தமது கட்சி எவ்வித ஊடகச் சந்திப்புக்களையோ அறிக்கைகளையோ விடுக்கவில்லை என அவர் சுட்டிக்காட்டியுள்ளார்.
எனினும், ஜெனரல் சரத் பொன்சேகா தரப்பினர் பல சந்தர்ப்பங்களில் ஊடக சந்திப்புக்களையும் அறிக்கைகளையும் வெளியிட்டு வந்ததாக அவர் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.
ஜெனரல் சரத் பொன்சேகா தரப்பு தேர்தல் சட்டங்களை உரிய முறையில் பின்பற்றவில்லை என அவர் குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளார்.

Ruling combine to challenge Fonseka’s candidature as he has not enrolled as a voter
COLOMBO: More than 70 cent of the 14 million-plus voters exercised their franchise in the sixth Sri Lankan presidential election on Tuesday. The polling was held from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The counting of postal ballots commenced at 8 p.m. and of the other votes after 10 p.m. in 88 different centres. The final result could be expected by Wednesday afternoon.
The first result has gone in favour of President Mahinda Rajapaksa. According to the Election Commission office, in Ratnapura district, the President has polled nearly 69 per cent of the postal votes. In Monaragawa district too, he is leading in postal votes.
The highlight of the day was the ‘discovery’ that the Opposition consensus nominee, General (retired) Sarath Fonseka, had not enrolled himself as a voter. At a hurriedly convened news conference, senior Ministers and leaders of the ruling combine accused him of taking the people for a ride and said they would move the apex court challenging his eligibility to contest, despite the fact that the Election Commission had ruled his nomination papers to be in order.
Given the high stakes involved for Mr. Rajapaksa, who is seeking a second term two years ahead of his first tenure, and General Fonseka, the peaceful poll came as a big relief to the people of the island nation.
Acknowledgement that the voting was calm came from the former Army Chief at a news conference. He said there was ‘unusual enthusiasm’ among the voters.
Mr. Rajapaksa cast his vote early in the morning at the Madhumalana Rajapaksa Maha Vidayalaya polling centre in Hambantota.
In contrast to the high turnout in the majority Sinhalese south, polling in the Northern and Eastern Provinces, parts of which were under the control of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam in the last election, was poor.
In the presidential polls in 2005, the then Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, who contested on United Party Freedom Alliance ) ticket, obtained 4,887,162 votes (50.29 per cent) and the United National Party candidate and Opposition leader, Ranil Wickremesinghe, secured 4,706,366 votes (47.43 per cent). Mr. Wickremesinghe lost mainly due to LTTE leader Velupillai Prabakaran’s diktat to Tamils to boycott the election.
Now, political and diplomatic observers are pleased that the election was tension-free, particularly given the apprehensions expressed by the Opposition in the last few days of large scale violence and rigging.
Rajith Keerthi Tennakoon, Director, Campaign For Free and Fair Elections, an NGO monitoring the elections, said there were six minor incidents before polling began.

Island wide voter turnout was more than 70% while the voter turnout for the North and East Provinces was less, People’s Action Free and Fair Elections (PAFFREL) Spokesperson Rohana Hettiarachchi said.
“The overall voter turnout was more than 70% island wide while the North and East witnessed a very low voter turnout of less than 20%,” Hettiarachchi said.
There were isolated incidents of violence that took place in Jaffna, Hambantota and Nawalapitiya with regard to grenade attacks and firing although these incidents were comparatively low considering the elections, Hettiarachchi said.
39 incidents of violence were reported at the time when the polls were closing, Hettiarachchi said. Although only 27 cases of violence were confirmed by the PAFFREL while 12 cases went unconfirmed, he added.
“There have been five cases of assaults, seven cases of intimidation and seven cases of illegal propaganda,” Hettiarachchi said. Seven of the most violent incidents were reported from the central province while the western and southern province had four incidents of election violence each, he said. However when compared to the incidents of pre election violence that amounted to 757 the Election Day violence was comparatively low, Hettiarcachi said.

Contrary to fears expressed, the first peacetime presidential election, following the defeat of the LTTE last May, was held yesterday (January 26) without any serious incidents of violence, though some elements made an abortive bid to disrupt polling in the Jaffna peninsula.
The police and the military said that heavy presence of law enforcement personnel backed by security forces had ensured a peaceful environment. Independent Election monitors, too, said the election had been largely free and fair though they had received about three dozen complaints.
The Election Secretariat said that polling had been brisk in almost all in areas outside the Northern and Eastern Provinces. Sources said that overall voter-turn out was expected to be around 70 per cent though in areas previously held and dominated by the LTTE, it was low.
The government deployed over 100,000 officers and men to provide security.
The Centre for Monitoring Election Violence (CMEV) said that an unidentified person had carried out a grenade attack on the home of Subramanium Sharma, SLFP Uduppidi coordinator at 3.30 a.m. on Tuesday. Sharma was quoted by the CMEV as saying that he had received threats last Saturday (January 23) not to vote.
Five persons were killed in pre-poll clashes, according to the Centre for Monitoring Election Violence.
Security officials and the CMEV said that explosions had been reported from Nallur, Manipay, Vaddukoddai, Chavakachcheri and Tellipillai in the Jaffna peninsula though there were no injuries or deaths among the civilian community. They said that a bicyle, a tea kiosk and a shop were damaged.
The CMEV expressed concern over the absence of transport as promised by Elections Commissioner Dayananda Dissanayake to facilitate the war displaced to reach polling booths.
Government sources told The Island that the Election Secretariat had made all possible arrangements to ensure the internally displaced received free transport.
Sources said that some critics had conveniently forgotten the environment in which the last presidential election was conducted in November 2005.
Recalling early presidential polls, President Mahinda Rajapaksa declared that he wanted to give an opportunity to Tamil speaking people to exercise their franchise as the LTTE had sabotaged the previous poll.
